Fort Bend Performing Arts Series Announces

2006 – 2007 Concert Season

The Fort Bend Performing Arts Series is pleased to announce its 2006 –2007 season.

The performing arts series is a mix of Christian and secular artists with all performances geared to enhancing the understanding and enjoyment of life through the creation and presentation of the performing arts.

Our 2006 - 2007 concert season will include five regular season performances plus two additional performances in cooperation with Williams Trace Baptist Church.

September 29, 2006 – Phillips, Craig & Dean

  • Since 1991, Randy Phillips, Shawn Craig and Dan Dean have been proving themselves faithful through a music ministry that has won them scores of fans—not to mention 18 No. 1 singles, several Dove Award nominations and sales near the 2 million mark. Known for their ability to write songs the church loves to sing, this trio brings an experience and maturity to today’s modern worship movement.

November 11, 2006 – Three Mo’ Tenors

  • The tenors of THREE MO’ TENORS are men who have developed a musical repertoire with extraordinary breadth. Like Olympic decathlon athletes, these classically trained, multi-talented operatic tenors can do it all! They have mastered not only operatic music, but jazz, gospel, soul, spirituals, new school, Broadway and the blues as well. Factoring in their showmanship, this super-talented trio has been earning sold-out performance and rave reviews across the country.

December 4, 2006 – Holiday Brass

  • Fort Bend Performing Arts Series and Williams Trace Baptist Church present Holiday Brass. This concert will feature traditional music of the season played by antiphonal brass, performed by members of the Houston Symphony, the Houston Ballet Orchestra, and the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra brass sections, and the Ambient Brass. Joining us again this year will be soprano Melissa Givens!

December 8, 2006 – Tim Janis: An American Christmas Carol

  • Fort Bend Performing Arts Series and Williams Trace Baptist Church present Tim Janis: An American Christmas Carol. An American Christmas Carol is a sight and sound multi-media experience featuring the Tim Janis ensemble playing newly composed Christmas carols and featuring the Williams Trace Baptist Church choir

January 27, 2007 – Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers

  • Larry, Steve, and Rudy Gatlin started singing in their hometown of Abilene, Texas and from there went on to make music history. Over the course of a four-decade career the Gatlin Brothers have gone from dusty Texas stages to White House performances, from Broadway to Grammy Awards and the top of the country charts. No, after a 10-year hiatus, the Gatlin Brothers are on tour again, singing to packed houses across the country.

February 24, 2007 – The Glenn Miller Orchestra

  • The world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra is the most popular and sought after big band in the world today for both concert and swing dance engagements. With its unique sound, this group is considered to be one of the greatest bands of all time.

April 21, 2007 – Riders Radio Theatre

  • Saddle up and get ready for an evening of wacky western wit, heavenly harmonies, and high adventure. This show begins and ends with Riders In The Sky performing the best in Western music…but in between, a two-act melodrama has fans on the edge of their seats and cheering for more

Season Tickets go on sale July 1, 2006 and are available in a 5-Concert Package and a
7-Concert Package. The 5-Concert Package cost is $125 and features Phillips, Craig & Dean, Three Mo’ Tenors, Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, and Riders Radio Theatre. The 7-Concert Package cost is $150 and includes all 7 concerts.
