Fort Bend Performing Arts Series Announces 2005 – 2006 Regular Season
The Fort Bend Performing Arts Series is pleased to announce its 2005 –2006 season. The performing arts series is a mix of Christian and secular artists with all performances geared to enhancing the understanding and enjoyment of life through the creation and presentation of the performing arts.
Our 2005 - 2006 season will include five regular season performances.
- August 20, 2005 – Chris Rice
For eight years now, he’s been the guy with the guitar, defying industry odds and making an impact with profound yet simple songwriting that cuts to the heart of what’s important in faith and life. Chris Rice’s newest album, released in February 2005, is Snapshots: Live and Fan Favorites.
- October 8, 2005 – The 5 Browns
The 5 Browns are an American quintet of brothers and sisters who are all virtuoso concert pianists. The 5 Browns are reaching their musical maturity just as seismic changes have begun to rewrite the rules in the classical recording industry. Their serious dedication combines with their infectious energy to offer the listener a new way to perceive classical music.
- February 11, 2006 – The American Pops Orchestra
The American Pops Orchestra is a 45-piece ensemble specializing in American popular music. Conductor/Artistic Director Ned Battista founded this orchestra as the Houston Pops Orchestra in 1971. The orchestra plays a wide variety of music, including songs from the latest Broadway shows, jazz, contemporary hits, exciting Latin styles, light classics, country western, music from the movies and Big Band favorites.
- March 4, 2006 – Riders In The Sky
Since America's Favorite Cowboys were inducted in to the Grand Ole Opry in 1982, they've remained favorite and faithful performing members. With 27-plus years, over 5,000 performances and counting under their collective cowboy belt, Riders In The Sky, the multi Grammy Award winning Western music group whose music is firmly grounded in the rich American music traditions of such legendary cowboys singers as Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and the Sons of the Pioneers—and whose fun-filled performances have enchanted audiences of all ages—are themselves the stuff of legend.
- Spring 2006 - Phillips, Craig and Dean
Randy Phillips, Shawn Craig and Dan Dean have been working hard for more than 13 years, turning up regularly to prove themselves faithful through a musical ministry that has won them scores of faithful fans--not to mention 18 No. 1 singles, several Dove Award nominations and sales near the 2 million mark. Known for their ability to write songs the church loves to sing (including "Mercy Came Running" and "Crucified With Christ"), this trio brings an experience and maturity to today's modern worship movement, enhanced no doubt by their "day jobs" as pastors.
